Bujold's Vorkosigan stories are my comfort books. I'm always on a quest to find the new books that will make some kind of impact on people's lives whether giving them a life changing revelation or momentary giggle that makes their day brighter. Because of that, I rarely reread books but this has been a tough week. The last 10 days I've had a horrible cold that was so bad I couldn't even read for a few days. The events on the broader canvas of America have been horribly distressing, looking far too much like events leading to apocalypse in hundreds of novels. Yesterday, on my lunch hour, I couldn't even get into any of the books I was looking forward to reading. Fortunately, when I can't immerse myself in books, I have Bujold's Vorkosigan series. The audiobook of Captain Vorpatril's Alliance was available at my library so I checked it out and fell in love with stories again. I listened to it while sorting through afternoon tasks at work and on my drive home. I'm thankful to be able to enjoy this book all over again so I'm now listening to a book I already read and loved.
